Stuart Breaks Sweat for GAGA.

Stuart Breaks Sweat for GAGA.

On Sunday Stuart Voget ran the London Marathon in aid of GAGA. He completed the course in 4 hours and 11 minutes – which considering the weather wasn’t favourable for those running a marathon, is a great achievement. In the process he has raised over £250 for our projects in Africa. Stuart won a ballot place in the Marathon and then decided to raise money for a charity and we are very grateful he selected us.

“From Shetland with Love” gives Ithemablihle the Gift of Light

“From Shetland with Love” gives Ithemablihle the Gift of Light

GAGA is very happy to announce that “From Shetland with Love” a wonderful organisation up in the Shetlands has funded the installation of power to Ithembalihle. Currently the small Orphanage depends on a small petrol generator which is costly, dirty and noisy. They use candles for light which are extremely dangerous and don’t offer the best light to do work in.   Now happily they can be connected to the main grid and enjoy the benefits of electricity - something we all take for granted. However, when we build the new dormitory we are hoping to introduce solar power which will reduce the cost of electricity and provide a more sustainable future.

Citadel Re-insurance sponsors Free Clinic

Citadel Re-insurance sponsors Free Clinic

Citadel has made a timely and significant donation to help support 1000 Hills Community Helpers Free Clinic. Currently the clinic treats 300 + people a day, and many subsidiary projects work from the centre as well, including  Community Health Workers (CHW’s) who are the centre’s outreach staff and act as a life line between the community and the centre/free clinic. The clinic has seen the need to continue because of the rise in those needing help but due to the strain was possibly having to review its opening hours and days. However now thanks to Citadel & GAGA they no longer have to.

Charlie Addresses Banbury Rotary Club

Charlie Addresses Banbury Rotary Club

On Friday Charlie our General Manager, addressed Banbury Rotary Club, where GAGA trustee Alan Wolstencroft is also a member. Charlie was welcomed by Ron Barnett the Club’s President, and the International Chairman Owen Kyffin. Giving a talk is a great way to share our message and inform those of the plight of so many in Africa and how, albeit in a small way, circumstances can be radically changed.
