Average cost to clothe one child for school for primary school level (one uniform) (given that most of the schools do not use the plain shirts and skirts)

“In the rural areas school have different uniforms, in other words they are not just white shirts and grey trousers/skirts. This obviously affects price. If you do not have a school uniform or attend school well presented you are not allowed to partake in lessons and the children are sent away. This is a massive problem in rural South Africa.”

(suggestion – raise funds to provide a primary school learner with stationery for approximately R150.00 or for high school for R250.00 for the year).

“Even if the children get to school and can afford their school fees they are often unequipped and this has a detrimental effect on their education.”


Milk – to provide a glass of long life milk to Ithembalihle children plus community children who eat lunch there daily 6 litres milk daily  - R12.00 x 6 = R72.00 daily
Also milk for the preschool children daily – fresh milk at the moment around R9.00 a litre
