We've received an update from the primary school, Kilimanjaro Young Girls in Need (KYGN) telling us all that the school's pupils, staff and families have encountered in 2020. Not just Coronavirus, but also extreme weather and floods, food shortages and a knock back on their fish farming initiative. Read more
The school at KYGN have been offering homeschooling support since the Coronavirus lockdown commenced and have now suffered additional hardship as extreme rainfall has caused the main road to the school to collapse and left many homes flooded. Read more
We aim to strengthen the provision of education and development opportunities through supporting projects and individuals to access education from early childhood development in creche and preschool settings, through primary education and on into tertiary education or vocational training.
One of the biggest priorities of KYGN is to make sure the school has a sustainable future, and that is why GAGA was pleased to support the creation of a Tilapia Fish Pond in 2018 which will be one of five ponds in a fish farming initiative targeted to generate sufficient income to fund 12% of the annual costs Read more
GAGA is proud to operate the Sangobeg Scholarship Programme which provides funding for tertiary level training and education to those who have no other opportunity to pursue further education and therefore would not have the opportunity to realise their full potential. Read more
